Warranty
5 and 10 Year Limited Warranty
Kaylien Corporation ("Kaylien") extends this Warranty on each Door and Door assembly product of its manufacture in our Lustr Metl to the original purchaser or transferable party(ies) whichever applies within the original FIVE (5) or TEN (10) year warranty period. The warranty period shall be measured from the original date of delivery to purchaser, dealer, contractor or installer. The original purchaser is the private residential or commercial owner when the door assembly is first installed, not the distributor, dealer or contractor.
General Warranty
Kaylien warrants that its products shall be free from any defects in the material and the workmanship for a period of FIVE (5) from the date of delivery to the original consumer purchaser or transferable party(ies).
Provided that the installation, finishing, and maintenance has been preformed in accordance with Kaylien's published recommendations, if any aspect of Kaylien's product fails during the warranty period, Kaylien will repair the defective component to the same condition as was provided by Kaylien at the time of the original order, provide a replacement component to the same condition as was provided by Kaylien at the time of the original order, or at Kaylien's option, refund the purchase price.
Aspects of Warranty
Telegraph
Kaylien warrants that its products shall comply with the Wood Door Manufacturers Association industry standard I.S.1A-04 (in effect at the time of manufacture) pertaining to Telegraphing. Telegraphing of vertical and horizontal edges and cores is considered defective when the face of the door varies from a true plane in excess of 0.010 inch in any 3.0 inch span.
Warp
Kaylien warrants that its products shall comply with the Wood Door Manufacturers Association industry standard I.S.1A-04 (in effect at the time of manufacture) pertaining to Warp. Doors measuring less than 42 inches in width, 84 inches in height and 1-3/4 inches thick shall not exceed 3/4 inch deviation in the plane of the door from end to end (Bow) or shall not exceed 3/4 inch deviation in the plane of the door from side to side (Cup) or shall not exceed 3/4 inch distortion of a door corner when compared to the three other corners (Twist). Doors exceeding 42 inches in width and 84 inches in height, but less than 48 inches in width and 96 inches in height are to measured and evaluated within any 42 inch by 84 inch section. Doors exceeding 48 inches in width or 96 inches in height are not warranted against Warp. Claims for warp may, at Kaylien's sole discretion, by deferred for one year period to allow for acclimation to site humidity and temperature conditions.
Construction
Kaylien warrants the construction of its products to conform to Wood Door Manufacturers Association industry standard I.S.1A-04 (in effect at the time of manufacture) pertaining to core requirements as follows.
Solid Core
Solid wood fiber or agri-fiber core material that comply with standard ANSI A208.1 1999 Particleboard, minimum Grade LD-1. Core is surrounded by LVL frame with a minimum aggregate width of 1.5 inches and a minimum Polylam Edge measuring 0.5 inches.
Hollow Core
Expanded honeycomb made of corrugated fiberboard phenolic impregnated and perforated as manufactured by Hexel Corporation or equal. Core is surrounded by LVL frame with a minimum aggregate width of 1.5 inches and a minimum Polylam Edge measuring 0.5 inches.
Components
Non Laminated Glass
The non-laminated glass in covered Kaylien products is warranted against premature failure of the glass
Laminated Glass
The laminated glass in covered Kaylien products is warranted against delamination, premature failure of the glass, or a permanent obstruction of vision due to failure of the hermetic seal.
Decorative Glass
The decorative glass in covered Kaylien products is warranted against delamination, premature failure of the glass, or a permanent obstruction of vision due to failure of the hermetic seal.
Hardware
Hardware supplied by Kaylien and prefitted as part of the product assembly shall be warranted as to machining for installation. Kaylien shall as a part of this warranty limit this warranty to that of the hardware manufacturer and make no warranty as to the applicability, fitness or merchantability of the hardware for a particular purpose.
Warranty Limitations
This warranty sets forth Kaylien's maximum liability for its Products. Kaylien makes no other warranty, expressed or implied with respect to its Product. IN NO EVENT, (INCLUDING WHERE THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS DEEMED NOT TO APPLY TO THE SALE OR PRODUCT IN QUESTION),SHALL KAYLIEN BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE SALE, INSTALLATION OR SUE OF ANY KAYLIEN PRODUCTS. No distributor, dealer, vendor, or Kaylien representative has the permission to alter this warranty.
Allocation of Risk
Because all construction must anticipate some water infiltration, it is important that the wall system (by others) be designed and constructed to properly manage moisture. Kaylien is not responsible for claims or damages caused by anticipated or unanticipated water infiltration; deficiencies in building design, construction and maintenance; failure to install Kaylien products in accordance with Kaylien installation instructions and recommendations.
State Law
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. Kaylien shall not be responsible for indirect, consequential or incidental damages, or for any amount in excess of the purchase price of the defective Product, whether the claim is for breach of warranty of negligence. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
